Short version: we collect as little as we can. We don't sell your information. Most of what you do here stays on your own device.
Who we are
This site is run by Looking Out Company LLC, an Alabama limited liability company based in Mobile, Alabama. We call it Looking Out Co. When this page says "we" or "us," it means us.
What you send us
Some pages have a form. If you fill one out, we get what you type in it:
- Parts request (The Garage): your name, email, and the details of the parts you asked about.
- Office order request (The Office): your name, email, and the items you want.
- Road trip request (Road Trip): your name, email, where you're going, dates, budget, who's traveling, and any notes.
- Garage Pass waitlist: your email, and if you choose, your first name and what you drive.
- Email: if you email us, we get your email address and whatever you write.
We use this only to answer your request or to send the one email you signed up for. We don't sell it, rent it, or trade it.
What stays on your device
Your cart, saved builds, saved trips, and your Restock Reminder list are saved in your own web browser (this is called "local storage"). We can't see them. Clear your browser data and they're gone.
The Restock Reminder app can show notices on your phone, but only if you say yes when your browser asks. You can turn that off in your browser settings at any time.
Cookies and tracking
We don't run ad trackers. We don't use analytics tools that follow you around the web. If we ever add one, we'll update this page first.
Our web host keeps basic server records, like your IP address and the pages you loaded, to keep the site running and safe. That's normal for any website.
When you click a store link
Many of our links go to other stores, like Amazon, Lowe's, Target, Walmart, Staples, and parts sellers. Some are affiliate links. When you click one, that store may set its own cookie so it knows we sent you. That is how we can earn a small commission. What that store does with your information is covered by its privacy policy, not ours. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Who else handles your information
- Our web host (Netlify) runs the site and receives form entries for us.
- Our email provider stores emails you send us.
- Stores you click to, as explained above.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep form entries and emails only as long as we need them to help you. Ask us and we'll delete yours.
Your choices
- Ask us what we have about you.
- Ask us to fix it or delete it.
- Get off the waitlist at any time.
Just email us. We'll answer as fast as we can.
Kids
This site is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child sent us something, tell us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this page
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
